Gotta collect 'em all: The ten rarest video games
Though most games are meant to the strings of the lingering heartbe played, some work best when they're left untouched. Just ask the North Carolina man who recently stumbled upon a sealed copy of the ultra-rare game Stadium Events in his basement, which promptly netted him an unheard-of $40,000. That's onethe seagulls and the waves helluva high score. But to expert game collector JJ Hendricks of JJ Games, who himself made headlines when he plunked down $17,500 for a rare Nintendo game, that score could get much, much higher.
Raid the closets and scour the attic --we were dear to each other here's Hendricks' picks for the top ten treasures in gaming.
A gray version of Nintendo WorldA troupe of little vagrants of the world Championships. 90 of these were given away to contestants during the 1990 competition, so it's not as rare as the gold version (see below). Both the gold and gray puts off its mask of vastnesscartridges are distinctive because they have a dip switch in the upper left corner so the length of the game can be changed. This should make them easy to spot." We're sure that makes the affected individuals feel much better. Unless, that is, they've incurred overdraft fees from their banks, been late on their bills, or wasted hours on the phone with their credit card companies. It's not the first time billing for online RPGs has gone awry, either. Our advice: any time you allow a third-party to bill your bank account directly, you're exposing yourself to this sort of problem. Avoid it by buying multiple months at a time (which'll usually save you a few bucks) or, safer still, by using the pre-paid game cards you'll find cropping up at an increasing number of retailers: everywhere from game stores to gas stations.Have you been overcharged by an online game? 7 Unhealthiest Pasta Dishes in America
I'm so confused," my friend Tania said recently. To see a world in a grain of sand "Ten years ago I ate pasta all the time, because it was low-fat. Then five years ago I stopped eating pasta altogether, because it's high carb. who is falling in love with my smileNow they're saying pasta is actually good for me—again! What's the deal? Penne for your thoughts!"I sympathized with her confusion. After all, the world is filled with diet "gurus" who want to seize on this study or that one and make absurd rules about what you should "never" eat oAnd forever has no endr "always" eat. And no food has been so praised and demonized as pasta. (Remember "carbo-loading"?) act is, pasta delivers a nice dose of quick energy for relatively few calories, and packs a bit of vitamins, minerals and fiber as well—especially if you opt for Stray birds of summer come to my windowwhole-wheat varieties. (Barilla has introduced a line of whole-wheat pastas that taste just like regular pasta—check them out.) But the humble stalk of spaghetti is neither a blessing nor a curse—it's a tool. Indeed, the best way to think of pasta is as a delivery system for other foods, be they good (think antioxidant-packed marinara sauce) or evil (fat-loaded carbonara). And that means a pasta-heavy diet could lead to a healthier you—or just a heavier you.
Our motto at Eat This, Not That! is that you can eat what you want and still lose weight—without dieting—by making smart food swaps no matter where you are. And that can be said about pasta dishes, as well—you just need to be aware of which platters fall within the realm of nutritional normalcy, and which ones are egregious mounds of calories and carbs. Below, see the seven worst pasta dishes in America—and what you should eat instead! The flavor and fat both come from the garlic-infused cream sauce--which gives this dish a full day's worth of saturated fat and sodium! Fact is, any time you order a meat that comes with white sauce, you can cut hundreds of calories by asking to have it prepared with nutrient-rich marinara instead. Ultimately, sauce is what’ll make or break your pasta dish. Take the Venetian Apricot Chicken, for example. The apricot-citrus sauce covering the chicken is broth-based, which makes it more akin to soup than the oily concoctions you’re used to.

Releasing Russell means Raiders righting a big wrong
First, they have a solid draft. Now, they cut JaMarcus Russell. What's next? A defeat of San Diego? A winning season? A head coach who sticks around for three seasons?
All I know is that the Raiders are beginning to act like a responsible football franchise determined to make itself better -- and no, that is not a misprint. They're making all the right moves, and hallelujah. It's about time.
Analysis
Pete PriscoRussell's release cements the former No. 1 pick as the biggest draft bust, for now. Read more

Oakland releases the former No. 1 pick, a move that saves the Raiders $6.45 million. Will the Raiders do something productive with that sum? Read more

Raiders cut ties with Russell
SI.com: Releasing Russell right move
The release of Russell is the clearest signal yet that Oakland is serious about junking another 5-11 finish and returning to the major leagues. The club sank $61 million in the guy -- including $31.5 million in guaranteed money -- and was understandably reluctant to walk away from its investment.
But it did it, and it did it for the right reasons: Because Russell flat-out stunk and was holding the team back. But you don't need me to tell you that. If you watched Russell for one nanosecond last season, you could've drawn the same conclusion. He was so bad that he couldn't complete half of his passes, had nearly four times as many interceptions (11) as touchdown passes (3) and was benched in midseason by a courageous Tom Cable.
"I think it's pretty clear what he has to do," Cable said then. "He has to learn how to take care of business on a daily basis consistently and prepare himself and take care of his development as a quarterback."
He never did. So the Raiders got tired of waiting and cut the guy. Well, hear, hear. They're a better team for it.
Bad enough that Russell established himself as a remarkably inaccurate passer, with more overpasses and underpasses than the Nimitz Freeway; what's worse is that he didn't seem to care, with myriad reports circulating about his weight problems, his laziness and his reluctance to improve himself.
I don't doubt that he has talent, but it takes more than talent to make it in the bigs, and Ryan Leaf, come on down. Until Russell came along, Leaf was the poster boy for first-round flops. Like Russell he was talented. Like Russell, he was designated "the quarterback of the future." Like Russell, he was a gazillion-dollar investment. But like Russell, he was undisciplined and scattered.
Which meant he was
The difference is that the Chargers didn't make Leaf the first pick in the draft nor the first quarterback in the draft. Russell was both, and it took three years for the Raiders -- just as it did San Diego with Leaf -- to realize they'd been duped.
He couldn't win. He wouldn't learn. He couldn't complete a freakin' pass. And he couldn't or wouldn't stay in shape. Connect the dots, people -- it's easy to see where that gets you.
advertisement
Date of Birth:
Nevertheless, it takes guts to admit a $61 million mistake after only three years. But the Raiders swallowed their pride and poise and did just that. They understood what everyone outside the 510 area code did, and that's that Russell can't play at this level -- or, at least, not the way he was playing with Oakland.
To say he struggled is an understatement. The guy was the Venus De Milo of quarterbacks and never showed improvement. In fact, he got worse with time, floundering after the Raiders surrounded him with experienced quarterback tutors like Ted Tollner and Paul Hackett.
Bottom line: He was a lost cause. And the Raiders finally acknowledged it.
In reality, they acknowledged it when they traded last month for quarterback Jason Campbell, making him the fifth quarterback on their roster. Somebody had to go, and Russell was the logical choice.
Only it would take owner Al Davis admitting he was wrong when he made Russell the first pick of the 2007 draft, and that couldn't have been easy -- especially after he made Russell a mega-millionaire. Yet he did it, and bravo for him.
If you believe in addition-by-subtraction you believe in what the Raiders just did. Russell wasn't going to make them better, and he could have made them worse. Now, he no longer is a temptation, a distraction or a subject for discussion, derision or debate on a franchise that is 29-83 over the last seven years.
He's simply gone, and good riddance.
Yeah, I know he can throw the ball a mile, but I don't care. It doesn't matter when you can't tell which jersey you're throwing to. I don't care that his skill set had him rated at the top of his quarterback class, either. I don't even care that the Raiders paid him a fortune the size of Liechtenstein's gross national product. Russell never, ever, ever was going to make it as an NFL quarterback.
The Raiders know it now, and they should have known it a year ago when Cable went rogue and benched Russell in favor of Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye. In four starts, Gradkowski threw twice as many touchdown passes as Russell did in nine and produced as many victories (two). Basically, he was a better quarterback. So was Frye. And the Raiders were better with them.
Now they're better off without Russell, and let's hear it for the Oakland Raiders. It took them three years to wake up to the nightmare that was Russell, and do what they absolutely, positively had to do.
But they did it. It is better

Bombing suspect had getaway car, officials say
The man suspected in last Saturday's attempted bombing of Times Square drove in the heart of Manhattan one day earlier and left a getaway car near his target, U.S. officials said Thursday.
Faisal Shahzad was apprehended by authorities two days after an SUV rigged with explosives failed to detonate in the crowded Manhattan tourist district. He remains in custody on terrorism and weapons charges, and he is continuing to cooperate extensively with investigators, a senior administration official said Thursday. They now believe that the material he is giving them is largely credible, the official added.
Insight into Shahzad's alleged planning of the attack came as House Minority Leader John A. Boehner delivered a tough critique of the Obama administration's approach to terrorism.
"We have been lucky, but luck is not an effective strategy for fighting terrorism," Boehner said at his weekly press briefing, and he denounced the administration's "bland reassurances."
"Through training, equipping and preparing, you make your own luck," responded Silvestre Reyes, chairman of the House intelligence committee. "We can't sit back and let every situation play out and hope that we're lucky. But we can, as we're doing, create an environment where we control the situation and set ourselves up for success." The committee met Thursday behind closed doors to hear more about the attempted bombing.
Shahzad dropped off a getaway car last Friday in New York, a government official said, but a day later, he locked the keys to it, and to his Connecticut apartment, in an SUV that he drove into Times Square. That forced Shahzad to take the train back to his Bridgeport, Conn., apartment. The Associated Press first reported about the second car.
Officials have said the gray 1993 Nissan Pathfinder, left abandoned in Times Square and loaded with firecrackers, gasoline and propane, could have created a huge fireball and killed nearby tourists and Broadway theatergoers if it had gone off successfully.
Kevin Barry, a retired member of the New York Police Department's bomb squad, told the Associated Press that the design of the bomb -- which included an improvised fireworks-and-powder detonator -- showed Shahzad had sufficient training to understand the basics of rigging an explosive device. But the bomb also included fertilizer that was incapable of exploding.
The alleged plot "was at least the fourth major terrorist incident on U.S. soil in the last eight months," Boehner said -- referring to the failed plot to attack New York's subways, the Fort Hood shootings and the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt of a jet over Detroit.
"Each of these individuals represent new strands of terrorism," Boehner said. "They received varying degrees of support, but all of them are tied to international terrorist organizations and their radical extremism platforms. We are seeing the dangerous results of motivated individuals being able to improve their capability to kill innocent civilians. Yet the Obama administration has spoon-fed the American people with bland reassurances, saying this was a 'one-off' and a 'lone wolf.' This is the rhetoric of an administration that continues to operate without a real, comprehensive plan to confront and defeat the terrorist threat."
Separately, Rep. Peter King, the top Republican on the House homeland security committee, called on Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to order an investigation of leaks to the media about the Times Square case.
King, who is also a member of the House intelligence committee, wrote in a letter to Holder on Thursday that "leaks from the administration provided details of the ongoing investigation, which, after the attack, turned out to be accurate." He described such disclosures as "a dangerous pattern that could undermine the entire investigation, risk lives of law enforcement officers, and jeopardize the ability to achieve convictions."december

CPLD auxiliary control circuit
Forth, this paper takes use of CPLD auxiliary control circuit, the LCD screen and keyboard to achieve local man-machine interface control. The remote monitoring of sensor network nodes is realized by the compilation of PC monitoring software which takes VC++ as the software development platform. To verify the success of transplantation on uC/OS-Ⅱreal-time operating system and the realization of multi-task system,we have done a full experiment. By taking a large number of experiments,we also verify the correctness of the protocol conversion(CAN-TCP/IP) gateway function and traffic status information acquisition function. Finally, through the local LCD screen and a remote PC monitor interface,we get the experimental results. The sensor network nodes developed by this issue meet the design requirements and expectations, provide a reference for the further study of distributed monitoring system.

Shaping your life and the future
A decade or two makes tremendous difference in one’s life. How different was the life at the eighties from the life at the nineties,or the life today at the turn of 21st century? How many years can one work after graduation for one’s country? In most cases, we are supposed to work for over 30 years after graduation for our country until retirement-------just three decades of working time and accomplishment. So there is no time to lose for anyone to make good plans and set up good goals for this short span of life accomplishment. Ten years ago, my daughter was a freshman majoring in the English language while I was a teacher of English in one university. Today, my daughter has finished her master course of Management of Information System and worked as a programmer in an American city. I have been retired for five years. In the twenty year’s time ,what great changes also have taken place in China and in my hometown Shanghai !
I always admire those Chinese young men and women who grew up, studied in college or worked already in the eighties and nineties,up to now, for they are much blessed by China’s policy of opening to the outside world. More than their parents’ generation, they can exercise control over how they use their time and energy; they are faced with more opportunities to hew out a bright future for themselves. The younger generations have lots of choices to make in deciding what kind of job they feel like doing; they are allowed to flit from one post to another or change their major or school as they wish. They even can further their education abroad. As was the system in my generation, we were dentined to do the same job, teacher or worker, right after graduation, the rest of our life until retirement. We were unable to choose the institution or factory where we worked. Once we were assigned to work in a certain work unit, it was likely we would stay there forever. We had no other way out to pursue personal welfare. How lucky and fortunate the young generations are ! They should treasure the golden age and make best use of their time and energy not only to fulfil their personal needs but also make contributions to their communities and country.
Do not let golden opportunities slip through your fingers. Life is short and precious, and human existence is fragile. The swiftness with which time flies reminds us that none of us has an infinite amount of time to achieve what one desires in life. When we see the people we love and admire pass away one by one-----family members, friends, colleagues and neighbors, we sadly realize how fragile human lives are. So do what you long for if conditions are ripe, because you have only one life to use.
Now you are entitled to shape your life and the future. You’d better seize every minute, making great efforts for the realization of your goals that you’ve set for yourslves within one decade or two decades’s time. What have you decided to do from now on ? Are you clear of your priorities? What haven’t you committed yourself to that is essential to shaping your future?
To accomplish something decisive in your life demands our full participation and our willingness to assume full responsibility for ourselves, physically, emotionally, intellectually and economically. Besides, it requires diligence----constant,earnest, painstaking practice. No pains , no gains. Victory only belongs to those who have vision, intelligence, perseverance and willpower. I believe that most of you who have tried will succeed in reaching your goals.

A Review of Evidence Eliminator
As you may be aware, you can speed up your PC and Internet Browser, reclaim lost Hard Disk space and professionally clean your PC. Also you can make it safer to use the Internet all in one click of your mouse. Did you know that in some sense your computer might be spying on you and your family? Every click you make on Windows Start Menu is logged and stored permanently on a hidden encrypted database within your own computer.
The reality is that deleting Internet cache and history, will not protect you. Your PC is keeping frightening records of both your online and off-line activity. Any of the web pages, pictures, movies, videos, sounds, e-mail and everything else you or anyone else have ever viewed could easily be recovered, even many years later. Consider how would you feel if somebody snooped this information out of your computer and made it public. Do you know if your children or their friends used your computers to download and/or delete files?
Evidence Eliminator does and will stop deleted files from coming back to embarrass you or someone else. It is possible to have a far more rewarding and safer Internet experience. You can start now to enjoy the benefits of a truly clean and faster like-new computer experience
If you are like most people, you most likely surf the Internet and send E-mail at work. If so your work computer will be full of evidence. It is becoming commonplace in the workplace for companies to copy and investigate the contents of their employees' computers without their consent or knowledge. This is legal and it is happening more and more as companies try to protect themselves from fraud and from loss due to poor productivity from Internet browsing workers. Your job could be at risk. People like you are losing their jobs right now because of their Internet activities in America and the United Kingdom. According to a recent news report, 73.5% of all companies admit they record and review their employees' communications and activities on the job.
There is no need for you to continue to take risks with your job, family, car, property or everything else that could be negatively impacted by someone snooping or stealing from your personal computer. Evidence Eliminator can protect you from the dangers of the Internet. It will transform your computer into a safe, clean and faster machine. If you have a business, protect your workplace and computers with Evidence Eliminator. Don't get investigated, instead get protection with Evidence Eliminator.
It has been proven that Evidence Eliminator is capable of defeating the same forensic software as used by the Los Angeles Police Department, US Secret Service, and Customs Department.
Evidence Eliminator provides many unique user benefits:
• It is top-notch professional program • It can speed up your computer significantly • Has a simple, easy to master user interface • Offers auto-configuration of popular locations where evidence is stored • The Stealth Mode provides invisible operations for your complete protection • The Safety Check feature provides easy protection for new users • Set and Forget usability - you only have to set-up the program once • One button daily security and protection • Offers a secure deletion process similar to United States military standards • Eliminates sensitive files and data even if locked by your Windows operating system • Provides full Windows Explorer integration • Includes Hot-Key recycle bin protection • Features auto-start with Windows for immediate response • Features auto power-off when completed on ATX/APM powered personal computers • All major functions are available direct from convenient system tray icon • Intercepts and secures standard Windows shutdowns and restarts (Win 95/98) • Includes command-line options for task schedulers • Allows detailed logging of all operations with options for daily logs • The Test Mode allows easy diagnosis and logging of drive irregularities • The Quick Mode runs most functions in one minute or less

Postcard
Standing on the shore of a lake
A tranquil lake whose colour
Reminds me of a sapphire
Embedded in a royal crown
Or more like the blue eyes
Of a lover in a fairy tale
Waiting for his lover who’s
Far far away
When the misty curtains
Are drawn apart mysteriously
I saw the meditating mountains
Benevolent old sages
Oblivious of everything
I am lost here
Where everything stands still
Except for the swans
Waltzing gracefully
In their blue dance floor
A rowboat lonely like me
Makes me part of this landscape
U can see me rowing across the lake
In this picture perfect postcard

dad
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
“Daddy, may I ask you a question?”
“Yeah sure, what is it?” replied the man.
“Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”
“That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.
“I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?” pleaded the little boy.
“If you must know, I make $20 an hour.”
“Oh,” the little boy replied, with his head down. Looking up, he said, “Daddy, may I please borrow $10?”
The father was furious, “If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard every day for such childish behavior.”
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10 and he really didn’t ask for money very often.
The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.
“Are you asleep, son?” He asked.
“No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy.
“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,” said the man, “It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $10you asked for.”
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. “Oh, thank you daddy!” He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at his father.
“Why do you want more money if you already have some?” the father grumbled.
“Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied. “Daddy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.”
